vSphere all - vCenter 5.0+ - No management network redundancy error message

Postby lmmtux » Fri Mar 07, 2014 4:41 pm

When adding an ESXi host to vCenter that only has one network interface, you may receive the error in the summary page for the host: "This host currently has no management network redundancy".

There are times where you may only have one management interface (i.e. a lab scenario). The steps below will disable this error message.

Disabling the management network redundancy error message

  1. Open vSphere Client and navigate to the cluster that the ESXi host(s) is a member of.
  2. Right-click on the cluster and go to Edit.
  3. Under "vSphere HA", click on the "Advanced Options" button.
  4. Add a new entry in the list:
    • Name the new entry: das.ignoreRedundantNetWarning
    • Set the value of this entry to: true
    • Click OK to save the changes.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.
  6. Right-click each host and select "Reconfigure for vSphere HA". As soon as vSphere HA has refreshed on each host, the error should disappear.
